The 120 children of Kako

For 3 years, Kako has been welcoming 120 children every summer and sharing a good part of the holidays with them, through his “holiday camp for the less fortunate” which he calls “Kako’s Kids”, at the Lycée de Pétion-Ville. These 120 children come from orphanages in the region or from the streets of Pétion-Ville. They are between 5 and 16 years old, and during the weeks that the camp lasts they receive a pair of sports shoes, “Kako’s Kids” flocked t-shirts, a hot meal every Sunday that the camp lasts and they are introduced to sports. in general, learn to behave differently towards the environment, towards others, but also to nurture hope for a better future. For 2014, the 120 children of Kako learned to play basketball thanks to the support of Jason Valbrun, but also learned to play together, to respect a certain discipline and above all to know a little more about sports, thanks to the contribution of other volunteers touched by the social aspect of the initiative. “We decided this year to start a little earlier for a camp that lasted 16 Sundays at the rate of just over 5 hours per Sunday.
